DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA TELA - DAMASCO

El damasco es un tejido con patrón jacquard en el que el patrón está tejido en la tela, en lugar de estar impreso en ella.
Generalmente los tejidos Jacquard se producen en un telar especial y se caracterizan por diseños tejidos complejos, generalmente con grandes repeticiones de diseño o efectos de tapiz.
Aquí la tela sigue el patrón de un círculo agrandado de diámetro 17 cm con una cruz centrada de unos 8 cm.
El diseño de la tela se crea a través de la técnica de tejido, que es una combinación de dos técnicas de tejido diferentes: el diseño se teje utilizando un tejido de satén , mientras que el fondo se consigue mediante un tejido liso, sarga o satén.
El damasco se teje utilizando un solo hilo de urdimbre y un solo hilo de trama. El patrón resultante del damasco es un patrón de un solo color.
La tela está disponible en 7 colores litúrgicos: violeta, verde, rojo, negro, blanco, rosa y dorado.

Beautiful color. Fabric ravels a bit too much making fine work difficult.

I purchased this fabric to make a church frontal for Lent/Advent and was very happy with the quality and color of it. It sews well and looks really lovely and I am very glad I purchased this from PSG Vestments as I could not source this locally.

We ( PSG & me) should have done better.

My mitre is made well. The colors are historical and everything is fine. However, my personal opinion is that the interlines supporting the shape should be a bit more firm. By my fault the mitre is one size too large. I petitioned the company pursuant to the return policy to ask for the tailors to resize the hat and was summarily rebuffed.

I think given the many garment I routinely purchase I might have been given a dispensation of grace. But PSG continues to make quality clergy garments.

Nice Stole… poor fringe.

The stole itself is great. Liked the design and fabric. The fringe/trim wasn’t the best. Had to straighten them out and re-twist some of them too. If it had a little higher quality trim, it would have been perfect!

Okay but not great

Mitre is of average quality, the interliner is too weak, sewing is good, the (infulae) are 1 1/2 inches short, provide a mitre case.

Measurements

The shoulder measurements were off. The measurements were off by 6 inches. The cope was 2 1/2 too wide on each shoulder side.
